Vegan Chocolate Oatmeal

Updated: Dec 2, 2018

Oats are one of the healthiest whole grain. They are rich source of fibre and protein, and provide essential vitamins and minerals such as iron, zinc, Vitamin B6. Oats are also a good source of beta-glucan soluble fiber as well as insoluble fiber which really aid with digestion. This vegan chocolate oatmeal recipe is extremely filling, rich in essential fatty acids ALA coming from chia seeds, hemp seeds and walnuts. Plus it tastes like a desert!

Chia gel

1/3 cup regular rolled oats

1/3 cup plant milk (I like plain soy milk or hazelnut milk but any plant milk would work)

1/3 cup water

chia gel (1 tbsp chia seeds + 5 tbsp water)

1/4 tsp Ceylon cinnamon

1 tsp raw cacao powder

1/2 tsp maca powder (optional) Combine all the ingredients and bring it to boil on a high heat. Bring the heat down and cook for 3-5 minutes stirring occasionally. (Microwaving for 2 minutes works as well).

1 tbsp almond butter

1 Medjool date or 1 tbsp date paste/syrup (or preferred sweetner)

1 tsp hemp seeds

1 tsp raw pumpkin seedsa few chopped walnuts berries
