Deconstructed Sushi Bowl

Do you love homemade sushi but are too lazy to make the rolls? This recipe is very simple and provides the sushi experience without all the work involved.


If this is your first time trying tofu, I would highly recommend against this recipe though :)


Ingredients

  1. 1 Cup cooked brown rice(I often use Trader Joe's frozen organic brown rice for this recipe + 1tsp rice vinegar

  2. 4 oz of extra firm tofu (I like Trader Joe's sprouted organic tofu for this recipe)

  3. 1/2 avocado

  4. sesame seeds

  5. 2 sheets of nori seaweed

Sauce

  1. 1 tsp wasabi powder mix ( I prefer real wasabi 51% wasabi powder )

  2. 2 tsp tamari sauce (or soy sauce)

  3. 1 Tbsp water

  4. 1/4 tsp sesame oil - optional

Instructions.


Warm up the rice in the microwave and add the rice vinegar. Rinse the tofu with boiling hot water and cut into small cubes. Cut the nori sheets into thin stripes. In a bowl combine rice, tofu, sliced avocado, and nori sheets. Sprinkle the sesame seeds and pour the sauce on tofu.
