Daily Dozen Smoothie - Berries and Greens
Updated: Nov 23, 2018

For me the best way to start the morning is to drink an antioxidant rich smoothie. Inspired by Dr. Greger's smoothie related series and daily dozen this smoothie is very nourishing but also tastes really good. It is high in antioxidants, Vitamin A (precursor carotenoids), Vitamin C, fibre, protein, taste delicious and kick starts my day. I like using higher fat plant milk like soy and ground flax seeds in order to maximize the absorption of fat soluble phytonutrients especially carotenoid absorption from raw greens. Flax seeds also help to thicken the smoothie, help suppress the appetite and increase satiety*.
“This #dailydozen smoothie checks off at least five marks of Dr. Michael Greger's Daily Dozen list and is packed full of antioxidants, fibre and vitamins.”

1 cup kale
1/2 cup unsweetened plain soy milk (or any other plant milk)
